For centuries Devon has provided inspiration for a host of many literary heroes. Many of which lived in Devon; some stayed for a time; and others holidayed there. In fact Devon has proved such an influence on writers that it’s more of a challenge to find parts of the county which aren’t linked with England’s literary past!
Here are just a few of our favourite authors who have been inspired by the beautiful county of Devon.

North Somerset boasts a wide variety of attractions including Tyntesfield and Clevedon Court National Trust properties, farm attractions and the famous Grand Pier in Weston-super-Mare. With coast and countryside the area has a wealth of activities and heritage available too.
